2 November 2015 United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon celebrates 70th anniversary of UN Charter with agencies present in Spain
The 14 agencies, funds and programmes of the United Nations represented in Spain met with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon during his official visit to the country. The meeting was held in the context of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations and the 60th anniversary of Spain’s entry into the organization.

UNWTO is deeply saddened by the news of the crash of the Kogalymavia flight in Central Sinai, Egypt. 29 October 2015 UNWTO activities at WTM London to focus on destination branding, the Silk Road and youth travel
The first activity of UNWTO at this year World Travel Market is the 9th UNWTO/WTM Minister’s Summit to be held on 3 November. Under the title ‘Destination branding: new challenges in a changing market’, the Summit will focus on the impact of social media and new business models in destination branding.
29 October 2015 International tourist arrivals up 4% driven by strong results in Europe
International tourist arrivals grew by 4.3% in the first eight months of 2015 according to the latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer, fuelled by strong results in Europe and consolidating the trend of recent years. International tourists (overnight visitors) travelling the world between January and August 2015 reached 810 million, 33 million more than in the same period of 2014. 
27 October 2015 Civil society celebrates 70th anniversary of the United Nations together with UN agencies, funds and programmes with representation in Spain
Hundreds of visitors of all ages participated this weekend in the celebrations at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre of Madrid to mark the 70th anniversary of the signing of the founding Charter of the United Nations.  In the course of a day-long open house, 14 agencies, funds and programmes showcased their work with photographic exhibitions, discussions and activities for children, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn more about the UN family.
